Felix Parra Diaz (Morelia, Michoacán, November 17, 1845 - Tacubaya, Mexico City, February 9, 1919) was a Mexican painter and academic. He entered the College of San Nicolás de Hidalgo where he was a pupil of Herrera Octavian , who taught the class of academic painting. He moved to Mexico City to continue his studies at the Academy of San Carlos where he was a pupil of Pelegrin Clave , Santiago and Jose Salome Pina. He settled for five years in Europe with the support of Lascuráin Ramón , who directed the Academy Nacional de Bellas Artes. When he returned to Mexico in 1882 , he directed the Academy of San Carlos Monroy Petronilo. In 1890 , along with Gabriel Guerra, he decorated the Municipal Palace and the ceiling of the Hall Councils. In 1894 , he made a picture that is on the left wall of the Collegiate Church of Guadalupe. He was a teacher of Diego Rivera. Among his works A scene of the Conquest of 1877 , for which he was awarded a scholarship to travel to Europe.
