In this photo essay I wanted to capture the essence of some of the lyrics in popular songs. With each photo I matched some lyrics to give a fair description of what I wanted to capture. Photo one – the lanterns was matched with the lyrics “ light our way with our lanterns on” I wanted to gather the idea of how lanterns light our way and use this as a metaphor for life as when you’re lost you have a light to guide your way. The second photo of the candles was matched with the lyrics “strike the match, play It loud, giving love to the world” these lyrics represented how we need something to brighten our world and the light from the candles represent the good things that lighten our world up. “Lights will guide you home” these lyrics were matched up with the third picture of a light bulb to represent how if you are ever lost just look for that light or help and you can make your way back home. Lyrics from Coldplay, “Look at the stars, look how they shine for you” were used to describe the photo of the sun shining through the tree which almost looks like a star (which it is) and its to show that sometimes you have to look for things, for the good or bad to find what you’re looking for. Photo five used the lyrics “cause everything is never as it seems” to describe the turtle looking at its reflection as although it may look like there is another turtle there, behind all that there is simply no one there.  Moments are priceless that’s why the last photo used “forget about the price tag” lyrics as some moments in time you need to live and forget about how much it’s worth.
